Available Manchester's In Rescue

The dogs we take into by AMTC rescue are re-homed in what we call 'forever homes' but first any Manchester taken into AMTC Rescue is placed in a 'foster home' - and while in the foster home, the dog is vet checked for heartworms, parasites, and other possible medical conditions, spayed/neutered and given lots of love and attention until a forever home is found. Apply for adoption or foster through our application process (Word) or (PDF).  We also actively post on Petfinders.

"Alice" is a Standard Manchester Terrier in NJ. Alice came into rescue because her owner recently passed away. She is spayed and vaccines are up to date. For more information contact kris@amtcrescue.com

Hi my name is Smiley!
I was found on the streets by a kind person, who helped me find my way to a wonderful group of people, who call me their foster baby. I am a happy go lucky older fella. I go with the flow in my foster home and don't make much of a fuss. I would love a family of my very own. I told Santa it was my only wish this holiday season. If you are looking for a quiet mellow boy, who would just love a warm bed and some of your affection, I'm your guy.

If you have any questions about me you can email my foster mommy at
minpinner24@yahoo.com  and she can tell you anything you would like to know about me :).

Happy Holidays!! XoXo Smiley!

Poco is an 11 year old Toy Manchester.
Poco is an 11 year old Toy Manchester. Please don't let his maturity deter you, though, he's in excellent health and still has a lot of living to do. He's on the larger side for a toy @ 13 lbs. He is adjusting well in his foster home, considering that he recently lost the only home he's known for 11 years. He was initially a bit shy, but his cute little personality is now emerging as he settles in. He is fostered in a home with both small and large, male and female dogs and Poco gets along fine with all of them. He can usually be found cuddling with one or more of his housemates. He is crate trained, and housebroken. His foster mom is gone for a regular work day & Poco is able to "hold it" like a good boy until she gets home in the evening. Poco is hoping for a quieter, adults only home (small children would be a bit too much for him) where he can spend his golden years. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, and would be fine sharing his home with other dogs or cats.
If someone is looking for a cute, mellow little companion, please consider Poco. He is neutered and fully vetted. He is fostered in Chicago, IL. For more info on this stellar senior, please contact Amy at amyndobes@sbcglobal.net

Meet "Chester" a mellow well mannered guy
Chester is an owner surrendered neutered, middle-aged (7 years) Manchester Terrier located in Florida. He is heartworm free and up to date on his shots. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and will let himself out into the yard to potty. He was not thrilled with the Dremel when his nails were done but welcomed the cookie and snuggles afterward. Chester walks nicely on leash, rides calmly in the car, sits on command, and takes cookies gently. He also enjoys sleeping on chairs. He was very tolerant during his dental pre-check up and will be available for adoption after he has his dental. Chester may mark the furniture if he hasn’t been given the opportunity to potty outside and may bark if left in a crate for an extended period of time. If you have someone looking for a calm, well-mannered boy, please keep Chester in mind. (Click pictures for a larger view of Chester)

In Shelter; These are rescues available by other rescue groups. Some are purebred Manchesters and some are mixes. These rescues all have one thing in common: they need homes.
Please consider opening your heart and home to one of these little faces. You will be rewarded with a lifetime of love and companionship. If you are interested in one of these rescues, please contact the agency with which the dog is listed, NOT AMTC Rescue. AMTC Rescue takes no responsibility for the actions of any other organization or prospective adopters.

"Bubba is a 25 pound, Senior Male Manchester Terrier located in a No Kill shelter in Auburn, Nebraska. " Email: hua@hua.org Bubba was rescued from a breeder who had too many dogs to care for properly. He is good with dogs and up to date with shots He is a kindly old gentleman, quite spry and very curious. He is almost blind but it doesn't slow him down. He loves to investigate his surroundings, often with his nose held high to detect anything (especially a good treat) that he should be particularly aware of. The sun room is his favorite because he can feel the sun shine through all of the glass and also get plenty of food, love and hugs. Bubba invites you to visit him on his very own web page click here to learn more about him:
